Who is responsible for your data

REPORTA YA S.A.S. owns and operates the service and is the controller of your personal data. ACODEINVENTION S.A.S. developed the platform. This policy covers people who use the app or website wherever the service is available, and anyone who appears in a report, even if they have never created an account. Applicable law may give you additional rights.

Contact REPORTA YA S.A.S. at support@reporta-ya.com, by phone at +593 96 012 4680, or by mail at barrio La Josefina, avenida Diamante, intersección Perla, OE201, Quito, Pichincha, Ecuador. Ecuadorian tax ID (RUC) 1793240663001.

For prices or advertising sales, email sales@reporta-ya.com. For information about additional services, email info@reporta-ya.com.

Visits, accounts and profiles

When you browse as a guest, connection logs may include your IP address. A session or installation identifier and device usage data may also be generated. The website and app may store session information, preferences, drafts and cached files. You can read this privacy page without an account. It does not use analytics tools.

If you sign in by email, Google or Apple, we use an account identifier, email address and, when the provider shares them, your name and photo. Apple may provide a relay address if you hide your email. We also receive information you add to your profile, such as an alias, phone number, address or identification details. Signing in does not itself publish your email, location or a report.

What becomes public when you report

When you prepare a report, we may receive images, video, audio, narration, title, category, description, date and incident location, together with the account submitting it. An approved report may be visible in the app, on the map or on the website, including to people who are not signed in. Depending on profile and publication settings, your alias, photo or comments may also be visible.

When distribution is enabled, an approved report may be sent automatically to Reporta Ya’s public Telegram channel with its media, category, place and date. Other people can save or forward copies. You can ask us to review removal of a copy from a channel we control.

Before selecting a file, check faces, voices, licence plates and addresses. Take particular care with victims and children. Uploading a file does not let you consent on behalf of everyone in it. If someone identifies you in a report, you can ask us to review it without registering.

Permissions and optional features

The camera, media library and microphone let you create or select content. Location and its accuracy help place you on the map, show nearby content or mark an incident. The location included in a report may be public. You can manage permissions in your device or browser and browse public content without recording.

We use a device identifier to deliver notifications. If you enable Community Siren alerts where available, location and the notification identifier are used to reach nearby participants. If you trigger an alert, nearby participants may receive its precise location. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

If you participate in an available payment programme, we use the identification, bank and tax details needed to verify the report, handle invoicing and pay you.

When a file is analysed

Moderation may send images, video frames, text and audio to Google services to identify content that needs review. Analysis can start when you open a draft while online, before you select “Publish”. Muting the public version of a video does not necessarily prevent analysis of the original audio. To exclude an image or sound, remove it before selecting the file.

Writing and voice tools may transcribe narration, generate speech or suggest titles and categories. Automated classification may stop a submission or flag it for review. If a decision affects you, you can ask for an explanation and human review. Reading this policy does not itself express consent to an optional use.

Purposes, providers and countries

We process the data needed to provide the features you request, manage your account, reply to your messages and process payments. For security and abuse prevention, we may rely on legitimate interests where the law allows and your rights have been weighed. We also meet invoicing obligations and respond to valid legal requests. Where a use requires consent, such as certain promotions, you can withdraw it by emailing Mateo Romero.

We use screen events, ad interactions, approximate area, device data and crash reports to diagnose issues, measure use and select or measure local campaigns. Metrics and diagnostics may be associated with your account identifier.

Google/Firebase provides authentication, storage, notifications, metrics and diagnostics. Depending on the feature, Google also processes maps, content or voice. Apple participates if you use its sign-in service. Telegram receives content distributed to its channel. Organisations with dashboard access can view reports according to their access permissions. Infrastructure is located in the United States and Brazil. Email mateo.romero@reporta-ya.com to ask about destinations and safeguards applicable to your data.

Retention and security

We keep account information while the account is used and while handling its deletion. For published material, we consider its informational purpose and removal requests. For moderation files, security logs and request records, the criteria are the duration of the review, investigation of incidents and the need to document their resolution. Tax records are kept for the legally required period. You can ask which period applies to a specific record.

Drafts and downloaded files may remain on your device until you remove them. Clearing the cache or uninstalling the app does not delete data already submitted. We use authentication and integrity checks for certain features. If you notice unauthorised access or exposed data, email support@reporta-ya.com without including passwords or access codes.

Your rights and how to request deletion

To exercise your rights of access, correction or updating, you can email mateo.romero@reporta-ya.com. To delete information, email support@reporta-ya.com. Where applicable, you can object, ask us to restrict a use, request portability or human review, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful use. If you appear in a report, send its link or another reference. You can ask us to obscure or remove material even without an account.

To request deletion of your account and associated data, email support@reporta-ya.com with the subject “Delete my Reporta Ya account” and your account email or alias. You can do this without signing in or reinstalling the app. In the app, the option is under Profile → menu → Delete account. The request covers account access, profile, activity and associated content controlled by Reporta Ya, including reports and files. If we are legally required to retain a record, we will explain why and for how long.

Requests are free. We will verify your identity proportionately and respond within the applicable period. If you are writing for a child you represent, please mention this. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent authority.
